The Totara Awards 2023 is an annual event hosted by Totara in London, that recognizes the excellence of its partner organizations from around the world in designing and delivering innovative learning programs by using the Totara experience platform.
The awards give partner organizations a platform to showcase their achievements and innovation and recognize talented professionals and organizations who are committed to improving the quality of workplace learning and skills development.
Winners are chosen by a panel of judges composed of industry experts in the field of learning and development. The judges will carefully evaluate each entry based on the delivery of the project, the quality of the learning experience it provides, and the desired business outcomes achieved such as innovation, business impact and fulfilment of a market need.
This year, alongside easyJet we are so proud to walk away with the award for the most improved platform. This award is presented to the organization that can clearly demonstrate how their Totara platform has developed and improved over time, and easyJet’s success in transforming their learning platform is nothing short of amazing.
They gave their tired and out-of-date learning platform OLA - Online Learning Academy, a full makeover and transformed how people engaged with learning across the business.
The solution was a true collaboration and partnership between easyJet and Kineo to create a perfectly blended learning experience that was engaging and versatile. The refreshed platform would support the ethos of ‘Explore, Learn, Grow’. It aimed to embed a learning culture that empowered, developed, and retained staff, particularly during the pandemic, where many roles were displaced, making skills transferable and ensuring development and growth during and after the crisis.
Their transformation strategy included:
- Upgrading and enhancing their learning environment with a full learning experience suite
- Relaunching OLA with a strong brand identity that builds its ethos of Explore, Learn, Grow
- Revitalising learning content to be accessible, engaging, relevant and dynamic
- Integrating learning into the flow of work to create a push-pull learning culture
- Removing any unnecessary customisations and unused features to deliver a cleaner user experience and a platform that is easier to maintain

Not only did easyJet overhaul their learning but also closed the gap with Kineo analytics, a brand-new analytics tool built within their OLA, easyJet can now collect, analyze and measure their learning and impact all in one place. This completely changed their reporting ability and empowered them to have full visibility and control over their learning.
