The 2021 Most Socially Responsible Companies In Elearning

News | 21.12.2021

Kineo is a business shaped by our values, and the values of the City & Guilds brand. Whether that's giving back to our communities, committing to quality, being innovative or serving our clients to the best of our ability, we’re driven by our purpose – to make a positive impact on people, society, and the environment.

And indeed, most of us choose to applaud companies that hold themselves to high standards when it comes to environmental efforts, philanthropy, ethical work practices, and volunteering.

As the end of 2021 approaches, our friends at eLearning Industry decided it was about time to recognise the most socially responsible elearning companies for their noble causes, and we’re proud to be featured on this boutique list of eight.

We’re all accountable to help solve some of the social and environmental issues we face, and each business on this top list have demonstrated social responsibility as part of their corporate culture. Here are some of the initiatives eLearning Industry highlighted, as earning Kineo a place on the 2021 list of the most socially responsible elearning companies:

  • Work experience: Our work placement programme gives young people an insight into the world of work. Through the Youth Engagement programme, we have two groups of paid interns who work at Kineo during the summer months. We have also partnered the SPEAR charity to run a company visit to help with CV workshops, career stories and interviews, helping disadvantaged young people find work.
  • Apprenticeships: Over the last 3 years Kineo has held 4 apprenticeship places to capture people who would not otherwise have had the opportunity to join an organisation like Kineo. Three of the apprentices are now employed by Kineo in Project Management, Business Admin and Digital Marketing and the other is nearing completion.
  • Kineo open days: Over the last 7 years Kineo have been running visits and talks at colleges including DV8, Brighton & Lewes Film School and Backer & Packer.
  • Charity Work – pro bono: Together Co, a befriending charity, saw a surge in demand for their services as a result of COVID. Delivering training via Zoom was unsuccessful so we used StoryTagger to self-film a set of videos, with an interactive quiz and learning platform, so halving the training time and tripling the number of volunteers who completed the training.

“The program has been truly transformative. Digital transformation will form part of the vision for Together Co, improving efficiencies and creating more impact with the money we raise.”

We’re excited to continue this work into 2022, with more in the pipeline with the SPEAR Youth Engagement programme.
